Vetogrout EG340 - AE
Dynamic load-bearing epoxy grout (Waterproof).
Vetogrout EG340 is a three-component epoxy grout. It is composed of epoxy resin, hardener, and selected aggregates. The product is supplied in pre-weighed packs that are ready to use on-site. It merely requires mixing to produce a free-flow precision grout.
Vetogrout EG340 has excellent chemical resistance & is specially formulated for projects where heavy dynamic loads exist. It’s also ideal for projects where high physical and mechanical properties are required. Typical uses include rail grouting, crane rails, pile cap treatment, bridge bearings, fixing rock bolts and anchors, cavity filling, and high-speed turbine base grouting.
Uses
- For grouting & anchoring bridge bearings and pile caps.
- For industrial applications where chemical resistance and rapid strength development are required.
- For under-plate grouting & heavy machine beds.
- For demanding grout thicknesses (up to 200mm).
Advantages
- Free flow characteristics even in thin layers.
- Non-Shrinking with high adhesion.
- Low coefficient of thermal expansion.
- Suitable for damp and dry substrates.
- Suitable for repetitive dynamic and cyclic loads.
- Variable fill ratio for optimum flowability and effective bearing area.
- Excellent chemical resistancey.
- The tropical formulation is suitable for MENA conditions.
- High ultimate and early strength.
- Excellent creep resistance and mechanical properties.
- Wide thickness applications range from 10 to 200 mm.
Usage Instructions
All contact surfaces must be free from oil, grease, freestanding water, or any loosely adherent material. Cut back concrete surfaces to a sound base. All dust must be removed, and bolt holes or fixing pockets blown clean of dirt or debris.
All steel surfaces should be shot blasted free of rust and flaky mill scale. Protect cleaned surfaces by applying Vetoprime EP491.
The form-work should be constructed to be leak-proof as Vetogrout EG340 is free-flowing. Loss of grout once the material is placed but not hardened will result in the gap’s incomplete filling.
For free flow grout conditions, it is essential to provide a hydrostatic head of grout. To achieve this, use a feeding hopper system.
For inaccessible deep-section placing, use extendedwidth chains to encourage lateral movement and fill the gap completely. This will eliminate air pockets. For further information & specific advice, contact Saveto.
Pour all the contents of the hardener pack into the base container. Mix using a slow-speed power mixer until homogeneous.
Pour all the resultant liquid into a container with a capacity of 20-25 liters. Add all the filler provided for the product. Mix using a slow-speed power mixer for two minutes or until a uniform color is achieved.
The mixed grout should be poured steadily from one side only to eliminate the entrapment of air.
Continuous grout flow is essential. Sufficient grout must be available before starting. Regulate the time it takes to pour a batch to the time taken to prepare the next batch.
The maximum distance of flow is governed by the gap thickness, the head of grout applied, and the ambient temperature. The following table gives typical data for flow design.
Remove Vetogrout EG340 from tools and equipment with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use. Remove cured material mechanically.
