Vetobond AB432

Acrylic polymer cement modifier & bonding agent.

Vetobond AB432 is an acrylic polymer-based bonding agent and cement modifier designed to be used as a bonding aid, curing agent, and gauging liquid for cementitious systems. It is resistant to hydrolysis and can therefore be used for external applications. Vetobond AB432 is a milky liquid that first turns purple when first applied on concrete then becomes clear once it dries, it is applied directly from the bottle or pail to the concrete substrate by brush, roller, or spray.

Uses

  • Enhancement of renders, floor toppings, and plasters.
  • As a primer for bonding cementitious repair materials (Vetorep range of products).
  • As a primer for renders and plasters on fairfaced concrete and gypsum boards.
  • As a curing membrane, ready to receive further cementitious renders by re-priming.

Advantages

  • Adhesive bond to concrete will always exceed the tensile strength of the host concrete.
  • Suitable for use on damp and dry concrete.
  • Environmentally friendly water-based odorless and non-flammable.
  • Resistant to hydrolysis, used externally and internally.
  • High mechanical properties, allows thin section applications.
  • Excellent bond to concrete, masonry, stonework, plaster and cement boards.
  • Cost effective, suitable for use in MENA region conditions.
  • Non-redispersable, type II.

Usage Instructions

Clean all surfaces and remove any dust, unsound material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits, or algae. Roughen the surfaces, and remove any laitance and expose aggregate by light scabbling or grit-blasting.

Expose fully any corroded steel in the repair area and remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits. Clean the steel to bright condition paying particular attention to the back of the exposed steel bars. Grit-blasting is recommended for this process.

Thoroughly soak the substrate with clean water with remove any excess before the commencement of the works. Scrub Vetobond AB432 into the substrate, avoid puddling, and remove any excess. Apply the repair mortar or topping whilst the primer is still tacky.

Cure the repair mortar or topping using Vetobond AB432 to prevent rapid loss of water. In severe drying conditions, additional curing methods may be necessary. Protect uncured mortar from frost and rain.

Remove Vetobond AB432 from tools, equipment, and mixers with clean water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
