Vetoprime CP436 is a two-component, polymer-modified, cementitious primer designed to enhance the bond between the concrete-repair range of repair mortars and existing reinforced steel. Vetoprime CP436 is also designed to protect the steel reinforcement by providing a highly alkaline passivating layer around the reinforcement and migrating corrosion inhibitor technology, which minimizes further corrosion to surrounding steel reinforcement.
It is essential to apply Vetoprime CP436 to a sound, clean, and dry surface to achieve maximum bond strength between substrate and coating/repair products.
All rust and scale should be removed from any exposed steel reinforcement by grit blasting techniques or equivalent approved methods until the steel is in a bright condition.
Mix Vetoprime CP436 by slowly adding the powder component to the liquid component. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes until a smooth and even consistency is achieved.
Apply two coats of Vetoprime CP436 in a 1 mm thickness approximately) using a brush. Allow each coat to reach the initial setting before the application of the second one.
Clean all tools & equipment with water immediately after use.
