Vetoprime CP436

Corrosion inhibitor for steel reinforcement accepting cementitious repair or concrete.

Vetoprime CP436 is a two-component polymer modified cementitious primer designed to enhance the bond between the Concrete Repair range of repair mortars and existing reinforced steel. Vetoprime CP436 is also designed to protect the steel reinforcement by providing a highly alkaline passivating layer around the reinforcement and migrating corrosion inhibitor technology, which minimizes further corrosion to surrounding steel reinforcement.

Uses

  • Ideally designed as corrosion protection for steel reinforcement in the concrete repair systems.

Advantages

  • Two component, easy to use.
  • High bond strength to concrete and steel.
  • Good physical properties and mechanical strength.
  • Polymer modified system with low VOC.
  • Protection of steel through Migrating Corrosion.
  • Inhibitor technology.
  • Good resistance to water and chloride penetration.
  • Safe and environment friendly product.

Usage Instructions

It is essential to apply Vetoprime CP436 to a sound, clean, and dry surface to achieve maximum bond strength between substrate and coating/repair products.

All rust and scale should be removed from any exposed steel reinforcement by grit blasting techniques or equivalent approved methods to a bright steel condition.

Mix Vetoprime CP436 by slowly adding the powder component to the liquid component. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes until obtaining a smooth and even consistency.

Apply by using a brush two coats of Vetoprime CP436 in a 1mm thickness approximately. Allow each coat to reach the initial setting before the application of the second coat.

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
