Turathco Coat

Cementitious traditional decorative coating, for a natural clay pattern design.

Turathco Coat is a high polymer- cementitious-based powder paint supplied with traditional clay color collection and a selective amount of treated dry straws that can be used for interior and exterior surfaces. When mixed with water, it results in a high weather resistance traditional and durable look coat. Turathco Coat is available in three colors.

Usage Instructions

All surfaces should be at least 28 days old and strong enough to receive the Turathco Coat.

The surfaces should also be sound, clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, laitance, or any anti-adhering material.

Before applying Turathco Coat, repair any concrete/ plaster defects, and remove the paint from painted surfaces.

Apply a primer before the application of Turathco Coat, use Vetobond AB432 and ensure covering the whole area.

The primer should be fully dry before Turathco Coat application.

Add to the mixing container 9.6 up to 10.4 liters of water for each 20kg bag of Turathco Coat. Add the minimum amount of water first, and increase as required to reach the correct workability and consistency.

Gradually add the powder to the water and mix with a lowspeed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle. Increase the mixing speed to minimum/high until forming a smooth thick paintable slurry free of lumps.

Add the straws, which comes in a separate bag, and mix using hand (wear protective gloves).

Mix Turathco Coat with Straws until the whole amount of straws spread homogeneously with Turathco Coat.

The mix is usable for two hours after mixing.

Apply one or two coats of Vetonit Vetobond AB432 on high suction value surfaces, and wait until it is fully dried. Apply Turathco Coat by hand using imagination in creating a traditional pattern, wear suitable gloves for application.

Fill in the hand palm with a fair quantity and start spreading it on the surface to a maximum thickness of 3mm. The spreading material should be minimum, only ensuring the full coverage and a homogenous distribution of straws all over the spread area.

Clean tools with water before the mortar hardens.
