Vetogrout MH

High strength structural non-shrink grouting and filling mortar.

Vetogrout MH is a single component grouting and filling mortar that is ready to use and only requires the addition of water on site. Once the product is mixed, it becomes a trowelable and flowable concrete that can be applied by pouring into a prepared form-work to repair structure while being compatible with host concrete. Vetogrout MH is composed of a blend of hydraulic cement, carefully selected and graded aggregates, and special additives to give it its unique properties.

Uses

  • Framing manhole and service hatches at heavy traffic roads.
  • Repair of broken structural concrete elements where large segments are of concern.
  • Repairs with a thickness between 50 and 400mm.

Advantages

  • Easy to use the single component product.
  • High physical and mechanical properties.
  • Extremely low permeability providing reinforcement protection against corrosion as well as resistance to ingress of contaminants.
  • Non-Shrink properties ensuring repair dimensional stability.
  • Suitable for internal and external applications.
  • Breathable, compatible with host concrete.
  • Fast set and put in duty in 1 day.

Usage Instructions

Cut back all damaged and weak concrete to reach sound concrete or the application’s minimum depth. Grit blast the corroded steel reinforcement to remove all rust traces. Compensate steel loss up to 25% of the original section; Replace the steel reinforcement for section’s loss that exceeds 25%. Use Vetoprime CP436 to protect the steel reinforcement bars if needed.

Remove all concrete forms around the exposed steel reinforcements by a thickness of 25mm. Saw cut the perimeters of the repair area to a minimum depth of 10mm. Clean the prepared area thoroughly by brush and/ or compressed air. Use a water-tight form-work to avoid material loss.

Soak the areas to be repaired with Vetogrout MH with clean water for several hours before applying the Vetogrout system. Remove all excess water.

Normally, a primer is not required, provided to soak the substrate with clean water thoroughly, and it is damp when applying the product. For concrete highly contaminated with soluble salts, it is recommended to use Vetobond EB430, an epoxy bonding agent, which prevents migration of salts such as chloride ions and sulfate to the repair patch, as well as providing an enhanced bond for Vetogrout MH to host concrete.

Use a mechanical power mixer or drill fitted with a suitable paddle to ensure proper mixing. For 50kg Vetogrout MH bag, add 5-6 liters of clean water to a clean container.

Add the powder slowly to the water while mixing continuously with a low-speed mortar mixer. Mix for 3 minutes until obtaining a uniform consistency

Pour Vetogrout MH in a single continuous operation within 25 minutes of mixing. Pour the mixed material slowly to prevent air entrapment.

As Vetogrout MH is a cementitious-based material, cure it similarly to concrete. Curing can be conducted by a continuous watering and covering with polyethylene sheets.

Clean all tools immediately after application using freshwater. Clean hardened materials mechanically.
