(Formerly known as Vetomortar CHR)
High strength structural repair mortar
Vetorep CR520 is a single component polymer modified fibered cementitious structural repair mortar that is ready to use and only requires the addition of water on site. Once mixed, the product becomes a thixotropic mortar that is hand applied for the repair of demanding structural repair while being compatible with host concrete. Vetorep CR520 is composed of a blend of hydraulic cement, carefully selected and graded aggregates, fibers, and special additives to give it its unique properties.
- Vetorep CR520 is supplied in 25 Kg Bag. Consumption - 14 Liters Yield.
- Vetobond AB432 is supplied in 4 Liter Can. Consumption - 6-8 m2 / Liter.
- Vetoprime CP436 is supplied in 2Kg & 4kg Kit. Consumption - 1.18m2/2kg Kit @ 1mm, 2.35m2/4kg Kit @ 1mm
Note: Vetorep CR521 repair area should not exceed 2.5 m2 in a single application.
An original sealed bag of Vetorep CR520 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded temperature-controlled place, at temperatures between 5ºC - 35ºC.
Application area shall not exceed 2.5 m2 using Vetorep CR520, if such conditions exits use Vetorep CR521. The use of Vetorep CR520 in a single layer shall conform to:
To accept Vetorep CR520, all grit blasted steel reinforcements should be primed within 2 to 4 hours with one or two coats of corrosion inhibitor for steel reinforcement Vetoprime CP436.
Areas to be repaired with Vetorep CR520 should be soaked with clean water before applying the repair mortar. All excess water should be removed prior to applying one coat of acrylic bonding agent Vetobond AB432.
Vetobond AB432 should be allowed to become tacky before applying the repair mortar
To ensure proper mixing, a mechanically powered mixer or drill fitted with suitable paddle should be used. 2.8 to 3 liters of clean water should be added to a clean container.
The powder is then added slowly to the water while mixing continuously with a low-speed mixer/drill (400 - 600 rpm). Mixing time should be continued for 5 minutes until a uniform consistency is obtained.
Placing and Finishing
Vetorep CR520 can be applied by trowel or hand. The mixed mortar should be applied using firm pressure to fully compact the mortar and ensure good adhesion with the steel reinforcements and the substrate. Finishing and leveling should be carried out initially by a wooden or a plastic float. Final finishing should be carried out using steel float.
As Vetorep CR520 is a cementitious based material, it should be cured in a similar manner to concrete. Curing can be conducted using Vetobond AB432 or by continuous watering and covering with polyethylene sheets.
All tools should be cleaned immediately after application using freshwater. Hardened materials must be cleaned mechanically.
All damaged and weak concrete should be cut back to reach sound concrete and/or to a minimum depth of at least 10 mm.
Corroded steel reinforcement should be grit blasted to remove all rust traces. In case of significant loss in the steel reinforcement cross-section, the steel should be replaced. Remove all concrete forms around exposed steel reinforcements by 25 mm thickness. The perimeters of the repair area should be saw cut to a minimum depth of 10 mm. The prepared area should be cleaned thoroughly by brush and/or compressed air.
Vetorep CR520 can be applied in a single application for sections up to 50 mm thick in overhead applications and 75 mm thick in vertical applications. The thickness should not be less than 10 mm deep in all applications.
Vetorep CR520 Contains reins which may cause sensitization by skin contact. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapor. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection. Barrier creams provide additional skin protection. Should accidental skin contact occur, remove immediately with a resin removing cream, followed by soap and water. Do not use solvent. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water, and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Vetorep CR520 is non-flammable.
