Water Resistant Thick Patch & Repair Premixed Render
Vetonit Thick Render is a cement-based mortar composed of hydraulic binders, selected sand aggregates, and special additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site, which requires only the addition of clean water to produce cohesive mortar. Vetonit Thick Render is a high-quality product that contains a shrinkage control additive. It is ideal for patch repair and thick plaster applications, especially in coastal areas. Vetonit Thick Render is available in grey & white, also available in Saveto Standard Colors.
Vetonit Thick Render is supplied in 50kg Bag.
Consumption: 1.4 - 1.6 Kg/m²/mm.
Stated consumptions data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application, and wastage.
An original sealed bag of Vetonit Thick Render has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place.
For manual mixing, add to the mixing container 8.0-10 liters of water for each 50 Kg bag of Vetonit Thick Render or 11-12 litres/50kg bag for machine application. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Leave the mixed material to stand for 10 min and briefly remix without the addition of water. Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities and mix for approx. 1-2 min or when a homogenous mix is achieved.
Smooth Concrete Surfaces
Add 1-2 liters of Vetonit Bond 2 to the mixing water and adjust the water requirement accordingly for each 50 kg bag. Follow the same mixing procedure as described above.
Ensure that the scratch layer is applied first. Mixed material must be used within 2 hours. Do not add water to the mix once the mixed mortar starts to harden.
Vetonit Thick Render can be applied in a single layer up to 15 mm or multi-layers on rough or smooth surfaces to desired thickness. For multi-layer applications, the first layer should not exceed 15 mm.
Apply mixed material using spray machine or hawk & trowel technique, pushing first layer hard against the substrate. Rod or screed to a uniform thickness. Immediately then follow smoothing the surface, if single-layer repair.
For the second layer allow the first layer to partially set (60 - 120 min depending on weather). Apply second coat as described above to the desired total thickness not exceeding 30 mm.
Apply Vetonit Finish WR or Vetonit Finish WR EG as a finish coat.
Vetonit Thick Render is best cured by spraying water on the surfaces of applied materials every 12 hrs for a minimum of 3 days. During hot & dry conditions allow curing for a minimum of 5 days. It will help to obtain high mechanical strengths and minimize the risk of surface cracks.
The substrate should be sound, clean free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.
Prior to Vetonit Thick Render application, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water and surface should look damp at the time of the Vetonit Thick Render application.
Vetonit Thick Render is highly alkaline therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
Vetonit Thick Render is non-flammable.
