Product Description

Vetonit Render is a cement-based mortar composed of hydraulic binders, selected sand aggregates, and special additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site, which requires only the addition of clean water to produce cohesive mortar. Vetonit Render is a high-quality product that contains a shrinkage control additive. It is ideal for patch repair and thick plaster applications, especially in coastal areas. Vetonit Render is available in grey & white.

Advantages
  • Factory controlled pre-blend ensures consistently high quality.
  • Requires only the addition of water on-site at the time of usage.
  • Suitable for ME harsh weather conditions.
  • Easy application with uniform work flow enables high productivity & superior finishing.
  • Strong adhesion on a variety of substrates.
  • Internal & external applications.
  • Shrinkage control reduces surface cracks.
  • Suitable for wet to dry conditions.

Instructions for use

Mixing

For manual mixing, add to the mixing container 10-11.5 liters of water for each 50 Kg bag of Vetonit Render. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3 - 4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.

Leave the mixed material to stand for 10 min and briefly remix without the addition of water.

Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities and mix for approx. 1 - 2 min or when a homogenous mix is achieved.

Smooth Concrete Surfaces

Vetonit Render can be applied directly to the smooth concrete surfaces without the need for a scratch coat.

For more adhesion, depending on the concrete surface conditions, add 1-2 liters of Vetonit Bond 2 to the mixing water and adjust to the required liquid/ powder ratio for a 50kg bag.

Do not add water to the mix once the mixed mortar starts to harden.

Application

Vetonit Render can be applied in a single layer (3 - 10 mm) or multiple layers up to 20 mm on rough or smooth surfaces to the desired thickness. For multiple application layers, each layer should not exceed 10 mm.

Apply mixed material using the trowel technique, pushing the first layer hard against the substrate. Rod or screed to a uniform thickness. Immediately follow smoothing the surface, if single-layer repair.

For the second layer allow the first layer to partially set (60 - 120 min depending on weather). Apply the second layer as described above to the desired total thickness not exceeding 20 mm.

Apply Vetonit Finish WR or Vetonit Finish WR EG as a finish coat.

Curing

Vetonit Render is best cured by spraying water on the surfaces of applied materials every 12 hrs for a minimum of 3 days. During hot & dry conditions allow curing for a minimum of 5 days. It will help to obtain high mechanical strengths and minimize the risk of surface cracks.

Surface Preparation

The substrate should be sound, clean and free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.

Prior to Vetonit Render application, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water and surface should look damp at the time of the Vetonit Render application.

Limitation
  • Do not mix with any additives or products, unless recommended by Saveto.
  • Make sure the substrate is suitable for patching, repair application. In case of doubt, try on the sample area to assess its suitability.
  • Do not apply the product at a temperature of less than +5ºC. During the summer season, the working area must be covered to prevent ill-effects from direct sun and also excessive air-draught during the initial curing stage.
  • Tools should be cleaned with water before the mortar hardens. After the hardening, its residuals can be removed mechanically only.
