Technical Information
Product Description

Cool Plaster is a blend of OPC, graded sand, and lightweight aggregates plus functional additives for enhancing workability and adhesion. It can be applied on all surfaces after the proper preparation of the surface primed using Spatter Dash SB or Spatter Dash LB. The product provides thermal insulation for building wall sections relying on advanced material technologies.

  • Excellent thermal insulation properties.

  • Contains a special additive that reduces friction and prolongs the lifespan of the equipment.

  • Factory controlled pre-blend ensures consistently high quality.

  • Requires only the addition of water on-site at the time of usage.

  • Uniform color/mass.

  • Improved workability & curing.

  • Easy application with uniform work flow enables high productivity & superior finishing.

  • Strong adhesion on a variety of substrates.

  • Internal & external applications.

  • Shrinkage control reduces surface cracks.

  • Suitable for humid & dry conditions.

  • BS:EN 998-1 CSII, T2

  • Cement type: ASTM C150, type1.

  • ASTM C518

Packaging & Coverage

Cool Plaster is supplied in 22kg Bag.

Yield: ≈ 22liter wet/22kg dry bag

Stated consumptions data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application, and wastage.

Shelf Life & Storage

An original sealed bag of Cool Plaster has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 35ºC.

Instructions for use

Add into the mixing container 7-8  liters of water for each 22kg bag of Cool Plaster. Add the powder to the water while mixing with a mechanical plaster mixer or low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until achieving a uniform, lump-free consistency.

Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities, mix the whole bag for approximately 1-2 min or until achieving a homogeneous mix.

Smooth Concrete Surfaces

Apply Spatter Dash SB prior to the Cool Plaster application.

Apply Cool Plaster on the substrate in a single or double coats, on rough or smooth surfaces to achieve the desired thickness of 25-50 mm, and not exceeding 25mm per single coat.

Apply the mixed material by using the trowel technique. Press the mixed material hard against the surface. Rod or screed Cool Plaster on the surface to reach the desired uniform thickness, not exceeding 25mm for a single coat, or 25mm for each coat for multiple layers.

For the second coat application, allow the first layer to initially set for 60-120 min, the depends on weather conditions, then apply a second layer as described above.

Spray water onto the surface if the second layer is to be carried out the next day.

Cool Plaster is best cured by spraying water every 12 hours evenly on the surfaces of the applied material for a minimum of 3 days. During hot & dry conditions allow curing for a minimum of 5 days. It will help to obtain high mechanical strengths.

Surface Preparation

The substrate should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.

Prior to Cool Plaster, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water. The surface should look damp at the time of the Cool Plaster application.

  • Do not mix with any additives or products, unless recommended by Saveto.

  • Make sure the substrate is suitable for the plaster application. In case of doubt, try on the sample area to assess its suitability.

  • Do not apply the product at a temperature of less than +5ºC. During the summer season, the working area must be covered to prevent ill-effects from direct sun, and also from excessive air-draught during the initial curing stage.

  • Tools should be cleaned with water before the mortar hardens. After the hardening, its residuals can be removed mechanically only.

Additional Information
Health & Sefety

Cool Plaster is highly alkaline therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of cold water. Seek medical advice.
