Gypsum surfaces skim and finish compound
Vetogyps Compound is supplied as putty in pre-weighed pails ready to use on-site. Vetogyps Compound is a high-quality air-drying compound suitable for skim coat applications. It is ideal as a finishing coat for all gypsum surfaces, gypsum board surfaces, angles, and fastener heads.
Vetogyps Compound complies with ASTM C475.
Vetogyps Compound is supplied in 28kg Plastic Pails.
Coverage of 50 - 70m2/28kg (depends on the substrate).
Stated consumptions data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application, and wastage.
An original sealed container of Vetogyps Compound has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored in a dry shaded place at room temperature. Protect from freezing, exposure to extreme heat, and direct sunlight.
Product Preparation
Keep Vetogyps Compound containers at room temperature for 24 hours before use. Use directly from the container. Stir contents lightly if needed.
Application
Apply Vetogyps Compound over dry gypsum surfaces and gypsum board surfaces either manually or by spray machine. When using Vetogyps Compound for skim coating, work the mixed material to a smooth level using a putty knife. Allow each coat to dry completely before recoating and sanding. Sand Vetogyps Compound surface with care using grit paper. The final coat should be applied to a smooth finish.
Finishing Inside Corners
Apply compound to both corner sides using a putty knife. Fold tape along the center crease. Press into position. Embed tape with a putty knife. Remove excess compound and apply a thin coat over the tape. Let dry and apply a second coat on one side. Let dry and then cover the other side. When dry, sponge smooth if necessary.
Finishing Outside Corners
Fasten metal corner bead. Apply three coats of Vetogyps Compound and allow to dry between coats, smooth the surface with a wet sponge, if necessary. Extend the first coat onto the gypsum panel using the suitable putty knife.
Curing
Vetogyps Compound is self-curing and does not require water treatment.
Cleaning
All tools should be cleaned immediately after finishing with water. Hardened material can be cleaned mechanically.
The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compound, etc.
Allow wet surfaces to dry completely prior to the putty application.
Avoid direct contact of Vetogyps Compound with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves, approved disposable respirators, and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be washed with soap and water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of clean cold water. Dust from this product contains silica. Prolong inhalation may be harmful to health. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not swallow the contents of the package. If ingested, seek medical advice immediately.
Keep contents out of children's reach.
Vetogyps Compound is non-flammable.
