Non-toxic solvent free epoxy waterproof wall, floor & tank coating
Vetoproof EC720 is a two component non-toxic high performance solvent free epoxy coating system that adheres perfectly to concrete substrates. Once cured, the product has excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. Vetoproof EC720 provides an attractive hard wearing and easily cleanable hygienic coating.
Vetoproof EC720 supplied in 4 Liter Kit. Theoretical Coverage - 5 m²/liter @ 200 microns
Vetoprime EP491 or Vetoprime EP490 supplied in 4 Liter Kit. Theoretical Coverage - 7-10 m²/liter
Original sealed bag of Vetoproof EC720 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place below 35ºC.
Priming
Priming is not normally required provided the substrate is sound, prepared and good quality non porous concrete. However, if concrete surface is porous, or w/c ratio is >0.5 it is recommended to use Vetoprime EP491 or Vetoprime EP490.
Vetoprime EP491 or Vetoprime EP490 should be mixed in the proportions supplied. Add the entire contents of the hardener can to the base can. When thoroughly mixed, preferably using a slow speed mixer, the primer should be applied in a thin, continuous film using rollers or stiff brushes. Work the primer well into the surface of the concrete taking care to avoid ponding or over application. The primer should be left to achieve a tack-free condition before applying the top coat.
Mixing
In a separate mixing vessel, use a slow speed mixer to mix the base, hardener for 3 minutes. Mix these components in the quantities supplied taking care to ensure all containers are scraped clean. Do not add solvent thinners at any time.
Application
The first coat of Vetoproof EC720 should be laid using a short haired lamb wool roller or airless spray equipment to achieve a continuous coating. Ensure that loose hairs on the roller are removed before use. A minimum film thickness of 200 microns per coat should be applied. Apply the second coat in a perpendicular manner to the first coat ensuring a minimum dry film thickness of 200 microns. It is recommended to use a different color for each coat to ensure complete coverage.
Cleaning
Tools and equipment should be cleaned with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use.
All surfaces should be dry and free from contamination such as oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss algal growth, laitence, and all traces of mould release oils and curing compounds. This is best achieved by lightly grit-blasting the surface. Where moss, algae or similar growths have occurred, treatment with a proprietary biocide should be carried out after the grit-blasting process. Spalled and deeply disintegrated concrete should be removed to sound concrete and repaired with a Saveto repair system. Minor irregularities leveling and pin hole filling can be achieved using Vetorep ER350.
As with all epoxies; Vetoproof EC720 will yellow when exposed to UV
Before filling the tank with water, Vetoproof EC720 must be fully cured for 7days at 200C
Vetoproof EC720, Vetoprime EP491, Vetoprime EP490, and Vetonit Solvent XX400 should not come into contact with skin and eyes or be swallowed. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation of vapors. Some people are sensitive to resins, hardeners and solvents. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and eye protection. If working in confined areas, suitable respiratory protective equipment must be used. The use of barrier creams provide additional skin protection. In case of contact with skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse with soap and water. Do not use solvent. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medial advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately - Do not induce vomiting. Vetonit Solvent XX400 is flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. No Smoking. In the event of fire extinguish with CO2 or foam.
Vetoproof EC720 and Vetoprime EP491 are nonflammable.
