Solvent-free coal tar epoxy-based protective coating
Vetoproof EC761 is a two-component solvent-free tar extended epoxy coating system that adheres perfectly to concrete and metal substrates. Once cured, the product has excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. Vetoproof EC761 provides a hard-wearing and easily cleanable protective coating. Its use on floors, walls, structural elements, and tanks to protect against ingress of contaminants.
Vetoproof EC761 is supplied in 18 Liters Kit.
Theoretical Coverage: 5 m²/liter / coat @ 200 microns.
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of substrate, method of application, and wastage.
The original sealed kit of Vetoproof EC761 has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place below 35ºC.
Mixing
Thoroughly stir the individual components of Vetoproof EC761 before the two are mixed. Pour the entire contents of the hardener container into the base container and mix the material thoroughly for at least 3 minutes. The use of a heavy-duty slow speed, flameproof, or air-driven drill fitted with a mixing paddle is desirable.
Application
Apply the mixed Vetoproof EC761 to the prepared surface using a brush or lambs-wool roller. Ensure that the area is completely coated.
Curing
Allow the applied to cure for 7 days to achieve full cure to receive its chemical resistance properties.
Cleaning
Remove Vetoproof EC761 from tools and equipment with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use. Remove hardened material mechanically.
The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.
Laitance and weak surface layer shall be removed using mechanical methods such as grinding or blasting to provide a sound, well-profiled surface. Repair all necessary repairs before application by using epoxy mortar from the Vetorep ER range. Pinholes, blowholes, and minor irregularities can be leveled and filled by Vetorep ER350.
New concrete floors shall be at least 28 days old with a moisture content of less than 5% (shall earlier application be required testing of substrate for moisture conditions shall be made).
Blast grit steel substrates to surface quality SA2½ (BS 4232:Second Quality), and application shall occur within 2 to 4 hours after blasting.
Vetoproof EC761 and Vetonit Solvent XX400 should not come into contact with skin and eyes or be swallowed. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation of vapors. Some people are sensitive to resins, hardeners, and solvents. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and eye protection.
