High strength structural non-shrink self-compacting micro concrete
Vetorep CR521 is a single component polymer modified fibered cementitious structural and non-shrink micro concrete that is ready to use and only requires the addition of water on site. Once the product is mixed, it becomes a self-compacting micro-concrete that can be applied by pouring into a prepared form-work to repair structure while being compatible with host concrete. Vetorep CR521 is composed of a blend of hydraulic cement, carefully selected and graded aggregates, fibers, and special additives to give it its unique properties.
Vetorep CR521 is supplied in a 25kg Bag. Yield:13 Liters.
Vetoprime CP436 is supplied in a 2Kg & 4kg kit. Consumption: 1.18m2/2kg Kit @ 1mm, 2.35m2/4kg Kit @ 1mm
Vetobond AB432 is supplied in a 4 Liter Can. Consumption: 6-8 m2/Liter.
Vetobond EB430 is supplied in a 1 Liter Kit. Consumption: 8 m2/Liter.
Note: Vetorep CR520 repair area should not exceed 2.5 m2 in a single application.
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of substrate, method of application, and wastage.
The original sealed bag of Vetorep CR521 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded temperature-controlled place less than 35ºC.
Priming
To accept Vetorep CR521, prime all grit blasted steel reinforcements within 2 to 4 hours with one or two coats of Saveto corrosion inhibitor for steel reinforcement Vetoprime CP436.
Normally, a primer is not required, provided to soak the substrate with clean water thoroughly, and it is damp when applying the product. For concrete highly contaminated with soluble salts, it is recommended to use Vetobond EB430, an epoxy bonding agent, which prevents migration of salts such as chloride ions and sulfate to the repair patch, as well as providing an enhanced bond for Vetorep CR520 to host concrete.
Mixing
Use a mechanical power mixer or drill fitted with a suitable paddle to ensure proper mixing. Add 2.8 to 3 liters of clean water to a clean container.
Add the powder slowly to the water while mixing continuously with a low-speed mixer/drill (400 - 600 rpm), mix time for 3 minutes until obtaining a uniform consistency.
Placing and Finishing
Pour Vetorep CR521 in a single continuous operation within 25 minutes of mixing. Pour the mixed material slowly to prevent air entrapment.
Curing
As Vetorep CR521 is a cementitious-based material, cure it similarly to concrete. Curing can be conducted using Vetobond AB432 or by continuous watering and covering with polyethylene sheets.
Cleaning
Clean all tools immediately after application using freshwater. Clean hardened materials mechanically.
Cut back all damaged and weak concrete to reach sound concrete or the application's minimum depth. Grit blast the corroded steel reinforcement to remove all rust traces. Compensate steel loss up to 25% of the original section; Replace the steel reinforcement for section’s loss that exceeds 25%.
Remove all concrete forms around the exposed steel reinforcements by a thickness of 25mm. Saw cut the perimeters of the repair area to a minimum depth of 10mm. Clean the prepared area thoroughly by brush and/or compressed air. Use a water-tight form-work to avoid material loss.
Soak the areas to be repaired with Vetorep CR521 with clean water for several hours before applying the Vetorep system. Remove all excess water.
Vetorep CR521 Contains reins that may cause sensitization by skin contact. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapor. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection. Barrier creams provide additional skin protection. Should accidental skin contact occur, remove immediately with a resin-removing cream, followed by soap and water. Do not use solvent. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Vetorep CR521 is non-flammable.
