Sprayable lightweight premixed plaster
Plaster Cement Perlite is composed of hydraulic cement, Perlite, and selected aggregates with special additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site, which requires only the addition of clean water to produce a cohesive mix. Plaster Cement Perlite is a high-quality product and provides underlayment on various facets of the projects.
Plaster Cement Perlite is supplied in 25Kg Bag.
Consumption: 1 to 1.2 kg/m2/mm.
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. The actual value depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application & wastages.
The original sealed bag of Plaster Cement Perlite has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry, shaded place, at temperatures between 5ºC - 35ºC.
Design Criteria
Plaster Cement Perlite is designed to be used at thicknesses between 10-20mm in a layered application. The product can be applied on block walls without using a scratch coat as long as the substrate is properly neutralized before application. In cases of fair-faced concrete, a scratch coat is needed to ensure mechanical keying and enhanced bonding.
Mixing
Add to the mixing container 7-8 liters of water for each 25 Kg bag of Plaster Cement Perlite. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes until achieving a uniform, lump-free consistency.
Do not add water to the mix once the mixed mortar starts to harden.
Smooth Concrete Surfaces
Apply Spatter Dash SB before the application of Plaster Cement Perlite.
Application
Apply Plaster Cement Perlite in single or multiple layers on rough surfaces. On smooth surfaces, apply Plaster Cement Perlite after the application of a spatter-dash coat.
Rod or level to a uniform thickness immediately, then smoothen the material to the desired appearance.
For multiple layers, allow the plaster to partially dry (60-120 minutes depending on the weather). Apply the second coat at thickness as described above and to the desired appearance, or follow the ASTM C926 procedures for better layer application results regardless of the weather conditions.
After the surface appears stiff but still moist, smoothen the material to achieve the desired appearance.
Curing
Cure Plaster Cement Perlite by spraying water on its surface every 8-12 hrs for a minimum of 3 days. During hot & dry conditions, allow curing for a minimum of 5 days. It will help to obtain high mechanical strengths and minimize the risk of surface cracks.
Cleaning
Clean tools with water before the mortar hardens. After the hardening, remove the residuals mechanically.
The substrate should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, or any other substance that might impair the substrate's quality of bonding.
Before the Plaster Cement Perlite application, damp the entire surfaces with clean potable water. The substrate should be a neutralized surface at the time of the Plaster Cement Perlite application.
Plaster Cement Perlite is highly alkaline; therefore, avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be washed with soap and water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
Plaster Cement Perlite is non-flammable.
