Turathco Therm
Cementitious traditional decorative thick rendering material, for a natural clay pattern design.
Turathco Therm is a high polymer cementitious rendering material with a low thermal conductivity, supplied with traditional clay color collection and a selective amount of treated dry straws that can be used for exterior surfaces. When Turathco Therm is mixed with water, it produces a high weather resistance traditional and durable look coat. Turathco Therm is available in three colors.
Uses
- For decorative purposes on external facade systems.
- For decorative purposes for house walls, alternative for traditional plastering/rendering materials.
- Designed for various substrates (CMUs, Old plasters/renders, and concrete walls).
Advantages
- It comes in powder form and can be partially used at different times during its storage life.
- Low thermal conductivity.
- Color stability and durability with a natural clay appearance.
- Can be applied in different patterns and designs.
- High yield and more coverage.
- Breathable.
- Cost-effective.
- High adhesion strength to concrete, plasters, and gypsum boards.
- Designed especially for the Gulf environment.
Usage Instructions
All surfaces should be at least 7 days old and strong enough to receive the Turathco Therm.
The surfaces should also be sound, clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, laitance, or any anti-adhering material.
Before applying Turathco Therm, repair CMU, any concrete/ plaster defects, and remove the paint from the painted surfaces. The plastered area should be chiseled to become rough to receive the Turathco Therm.
Apply a primer before applying Turathco Therm, use Vetobond AB432 and ensure covering the whole area.
The primer should be fully dry before Turathco Therm application.
Add to the mixing container 7.6 up to 8.4 liters of water for each 20kg bag of Turathco Therm. Add the minimum amount of water first, and increase the amount as required to reach the correct workability and consistency.
Gradually add the powder to the water and mix with a low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle. Increase the mixing speed until a lump-free well-mixed hand-applied plaster consistency is formed. Add the straws, which come separately with each bag, and mix using the hands (wear protective gloves).
Turathco Therm can be mixed on a clean bounded ground area using a shovel as in the traditional application method; ensure the mixing place is clean and bounded. Add the straws using the traditional method, mixed by hand or foot. Mix Turathco Therm with Straws until the whole amount of straws spread homogeneously with Turathco Therm.
Use the mixture within a maximum of 90 min after mixing, depending on the weather conditions.
Apply one or two coats of Vetonit Vetobond AB432 on high suction value surfaces, and wait until it is fully dried. Apply Turathco Therm by hand using the imagination in creating a traditional pattern, and wear suitable gloves for application. Fill in the hand palm with a fair quantity and spread it on the surface to a maximum thickness of 10mm. The spreading material should be minimal to ensure full coverage and a homogenous distribution of straws all over the spread area. Refill your hand and apply to the desired thickness (≤ 20 mm) with a firm push to adhere to the total 30mm together and wall. For better application, throw the material by hand to the wall and spread it by the palm of your hand in a circular motion with a firm, suitable touch.

The applied material should be cured for 2 - 3 days (1 time a day ) for the 1st 24 hrs; the curing should be applied from up only with free-fall water without any pressure.
After the curing is done, apply a protective coat of Vetoseal XX772.
Clean tools with water before the mortar hardens.
