Vetotop EC198

Water-based wall & floor thin epoxy coating (Chemical & abrasion resistant, and anti-bacterial).

Vetotop EC198 is a hygienic waterborne coating that is based on a formulated epoxy resin & a curing agent. These components are especially selected for their ability to be applied & cured in a wide range of temperatures. The product is composed of 2 parts, a base and a hardener. This ensures a lump-free, smooth, & semi-gloss finish.

Uses

  • Ideal for areas with low vehicular traffic.
  • For schools & office buildings, restaurants, and food factories.
  • For hospitals, clinics, procedure rooms, and pharmaceutical plants.
  • For operating theaters in hospitals.

Advantages

  • Near zero odor & VOC.
  • Self-priming application on concrete substrates.
  • It does not support the growth of mold, fungi, or algae.
  • Easy to apply.
  • Excellent abrasion & chemical resistance.
  • Low maintenance costs.
  • Hygienic, impervious, & easily cleanable.
  • Can be used for floors & walls.
  • Available in 8 standard colors (with the possibility of custom RAL colors).
  • High bond, stronger than concrete cohesive strength.
  • Cost effective installation.

Usage Instructions

The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt-curing compounds, etc.

Laitance and weak surface layer must be removed using mechanical methods (such as grinding or blasting) to provide a sound, well-profiled surface.

Before you apply, make all the necessary repairs using an epoxy mortar from the Vetorep ER range. New concrete floors should be at least 28 days old with a moisture content of less than 5% (for earlier applications, test the substrate’s moisture conditions).

Steel substrates should be grit blasted to surface quality SA2½ (BS 4232:Second Quality). When the quality is achieved, apply Vetoprime EP390, wait until it dries, then continue with the application of Vetotop EC198.

Generally, no primer is required to use Vetotop EC198 on cementitious substrates; however, where highly absorbent cementitious surfaces exist, Vetoprime AP443 can be used. For metal substrate, it is mandatory to use Vetoprime EP390 as a primer.

Stir the individual components of Vetotop EC198 thoroughly before mixing them together. Pour the entire content of the hardener container into the base container then thoroughly mix them for at least 3 minutes. Use a heavy-duty, slow speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle.

Apply the Vetotop EC198 mix to the prepared surface using a brush or a lambs-wool roller. Ensure that the area is completely coated & that the material does not “pond”.

The applied coat can receive foot traffic in 24 hours; however, it is recommended to let it cure fully for 7 days to activate its chemical resistance properties & to allow it to receive vehicular traffic.

Remove Vetotop EC198 from tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Remove hardened material mechanically.
