Usage Instructions
The substrate should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compound, or any other substance that might impair bond quality with the substrate.
Concrete, hollow blocks, and cement-based substrates must be sufficiently cured and irrigated by water 1hour before application. The surface should appear damp with no water pooling.
For the preparation of mortar adhesive, pour into a container 7 - 7.5 liters of water for each 25kg bag of Vetoset CA540. for 15 kg bag use
Add the powder to the water and mix for 3-4 minutes using a low- speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle until achieving a uniform, lump-free consistency. Allow the mixed material to stand for about 10 minutes and remix briefly without adding further water.
Apply the mixed mortar adhesive in a thin layer, and firmly press it onto the surface that will be tiled and work with the trowel’s flat edge. Comb the adhesive with a suitable notched trowel horizontally to achieve a 2 - 8 mm bed thickness. Spread the mortar adhesive to a manageable area that can be tiled within 5-10 minutes. Press the tiles firmly over the mortar adhesive and immediately knock them into the desired position. Adjust the position of the tiles, if required, within its adjustability time of 5-7 minutes after installation.
Use the back buttering method with any tile that has at least one side measures more than 35 cm length. Apply and comb the adhesive on the surface to be tiled. Also, add the adhesive to the backside of the tile with/without combing.
Allow the installed tiles to remain undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
Mortar adhesive must not rise between the tile joints higher than halfway the thickness of the tiles. It is recommended to use Vetofill CG550 to fill the joint gaps after 2 days of tile installation.
