Non-metallic dry-shake monolithic floor hardener
Vetotop XT538 is a cementitious floor dressing material composed of hydraulic binders, selected hard-wearing aggregates, and special additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site. Vetotop XT538 is applied by the dry shake method to provide a hard-wearing top surface that bonds monolithically to the concrete flooring. It is ideal for all industrial areas subjected to heavy traffic, such as power stations, heavy industry, agricultural buildings, distillation plants, laboratories, abattoirs, warehouse floors, loading bays, and workshops.
Vetotop XT538 supplied in a 25kg Bag.
Light Duty: 3-4 kg/m2.
Medium Duty: 5-7 kg /m2.
Heavy Duty: 8-9 kg/m2.
Expansion Joints: 1.5-2 kg/10 cm strips.
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of substrate, method of application, and wastage.
The original sealed bag of Vetotop XT538 has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded place below 35ºC.
Use a properly designed nonbleeding concrete mix of required strength, with a minimum cement content of 300 Kg and a slump of 75 mm and not more than 3% entrained air. The surface is then floated with a wooden or aluminum float. After casting, remove any bleeding water from the concrete.
Sprinkle Vetotop XT538 along edges of bays (Approx. 100 mm strips) where expansion and contraction joints will be located first. Float into the surface using a wooden float.
As soon as the concrete is firm enough to support the workman's weight, apply the first shake of Vetotop XT538. Use up to 2/3 of the total shake mix in the first application. Treat areas adjacent to walls and columns first. Spread the material evenly by sprinkling at right angles in two passes close to floor level. Allow the applied material to absorb the moisture from the concrete surface. Uniform darker color will be apparent.
Using a wooden float, float Vetotop XT538 into the concrete, ensuring the material becomes an integral part of the surface. Follow the second floating immediately after the first floating. Spread the balance 1/3 of the material, follow promptly with the second floating using wood or aluminum float or power float in case of large areas. A third power floating may follow for added compaction if required.
Vetotop XT538 is a cementitious product. Follow all norms and practices of casting and curing cementitious products, either by covering the surface with water and polyethylene sheets or applying a curing compound. Immediately after removing the polyethylene sheet, sweep the floor to remove any dust or loose particles.
Clean tools with water promptly before material hardens. Hardened material can be mechanically removed.
Vetotop XT538 is highly alkaline; therefore, avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
Vetotop XT538 is non-flammable.
