Professional grade adhesive to work with large tile format & multiple types of tiles (C2TE S1)
Vetoset CA540 is a cement-based professional grade highly deformable tile adhesive that works with most tiles and flexible substrates. The product is composed of a blend of cement, carefully selected aggregates, special additives, and polymers that provide Vetoset CA540 with its unique properties. The product is suitable for internal as well as external use.
Easy to apply, a single component product.
Used internally and externally.
High bond strength.
Suitable for use with underfloor heating systems.
Immersed and wet areas tiling.
Vetoset CA540 supplied in 20kg Bag.
Yield: 18 Liters, or 5.5-6.6m2/bag
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of substrate, method of application, and wastages.
An original sealed bag of Vetoset CA540 has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry, shaded place below 35ºC.
For the preparation of mortar adhesive, pour into a container 5-6.6 liters of water for each 20Kg bag of Vetoset CA540.
Add the powder to the water and mix for 3-4 minutes using a low- speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle until achieving a uniform, lump-free consistency. Allow the mixed material to stand for about 10 minutes and remix briefly without adding further water.
Apply the mixed mortar adhesive in a thin layer, and firmly press it onto the surface that will be tiled and work with the trowel's flat edge. Comb the adhesive with a suitable notched trowel horizontally to achieve a 2 - 5 mm bed thickness. Spread the mortar adhesive to a manageable area that can be tiled within 5-10 minutes. Press the tiles firmly over the mortar adhesive and immediately knock them into the desired position. Adjust the position of the tiles, if required, within its adjustability time of 10 minutes after installation.
Use the back buttering method for large tile format applications. Apply and comb the adhesive on the surface to be tiled. Also, add the adhesive to the backside of the tile with/without combing.
Allow the installed tiles to remain undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
Mortar adhesive must not rise between the tile joints higher than halfway the thickness of the tiles. It is recommended to use Vetofill CG550 to fill the joint gaps after 2 days of tile installation.
If more deformability is required to reach S2 specifications, the mixing water is either completely replaced or partially replaced by 2.5 liters of Vetobond AB432 depends on the flexibility needed.
Clean tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Remove the hardened material using mechanical means.
The substrate should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compound, or any other substance that might impair the quality of bond with the substrate.
Concrete, hollow blocks, and cement-based substrates must be sufficiently cured and irrigated by water 1hour before application. The surface should appear damp with no water pooling.
Gypsum boards, plasterboards, anhydrite screeds must be sufficiently dry and free from dust.
Vetoset CA540 is highly alkaline; therefore, avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be washed with soap and water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
Vetoset CA540 is non-flammable.
