Water resistant high quality premixed putty
Vetonit Putty WR is composed of fine fillers, bonding chemicals, and high-performance additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site, which requires only addition of clean water to produce a cohesive mix. Vetonit Putty WR is a high-quality product as a thin underlayment to repair undulations and provides a very smooth surface finish ideal for subsequent application of paint & decorative coatings. Vetonit Putty WR can be applied generally in thickness from 1 mm to 3 mm.
Vetonit Putty WR is supplied in 20 Kg Bag
Consumption: 1.0 - 1.2 Kg/m2/1mm Thickness
Stated consumptions data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application and wastage.
Original sealed bags of Vetonit Putty WR has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 25ºC.
For mechanical mixing add to the mixing container 7.6-8 liters of water for each 20 Kg bag of Vetonit Putty WR. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Leave the mixed material to stand for 10 min and briefly remix without the addition of water.
Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities and mix for approx. 1-2 min or when a homogenous mix is achieved.
When required add 1 liter of Vetonit Bond 2 to the mixing water and adjust the water requirement accordingly for each 20kg bag. Follow the same mixing procedure as above.
Mixed material must be used within 3 hours. Do not add water once the mixed filler mortar starts to stiffen or harden.
Vetonit Putty WR is generally applied in single or double coats. Apply Vetonit Putty WR to the substrate by pressing the putty firmly, work the mixed material to a smooth level using a flat trowel. Apply a second coat as necessary once the first coat has initially set.
Once Vetonit Putty WR is applied, It is recommended to apply one coat of alkali-resistant primer followed by two coats of acrylic emulsion paint or other suitable coatings.
Vetonit Putty WR is self-curing and does not require water treatment. However, when used as a final finish it is recommended to apply a single coat of Bond Pure to perform as a surface enhancer and curing compound that will naturally disintegrate with time.
All tools should be cleaned immediately after finishing by water. Hardened materials can be cleaned mechanically.
The surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt curing compound, etc.
Prior to the Vetonit Putty WR application, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water and allow the surfaces to become damp at the time of application.
Vetonit Putty WR is highly alkaline therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application.
Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eye irritation, immediately wash with a copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
