Water-based acrylic curing compound and primer *
Vetocure XT427 is an acrylic resin-based curing compound. When first applied to a fresh cementitious surface, the product forms a continuous non-penetrating coating. This coating dries to form a continuous film which provides a barrier to moisture loss, ensuring more efficient cement hydration, improved durability, and reduced shrinkage.
Vetocure XT427 is supplied in 20 & 200 liters containers.
Coverage: 4 - 6 m2/Liter
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application, and wastage.
Vetocure XT427 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months, provided the temperature is kept within the range of 5ºC to 35ºC. Avoid freezing and prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight. Should the temperature of the product fall outside this range, then contact Saveto Technical Service Department for advice.
Containers should be kept sealed and airtight to prevent loss of moisture by evaporation.
Application to fresh concrete
Vetocure XT427 should be spray applied to the surface of fresh concrete. Apply approximately 30 minutes after evaporation has left the concrete free from surface water.
A spraying machine producing a fine mist may be used for Vetocure XT427 application, such as knapsack or motorized sprayers. An application trial should ensure the suitability of the machine. The spray nozzle should be held approximately 450 mm from the concrete surface and passed back and forth to ensure complete coverage. Ensure maintaining pump pressure to give an even, fine spray.
To ensure continued curing, no further application of water or other material is necessary after application. The cured surface should not be disturbed until it has sufficient strength to bear surface loads. It is recommended not to walk on the applied film before it is fully dry and ensure that it is not broken.
Application to hardened concrete
Vetocure XT427 can be applied manually if a spray machine is not available. Use a soft brush, broom, or wide roller for applying Vetocure XT427. In this situation, apply the product once the concrete has hardened sufficiently not to get damaged during application.
Vetocure XT427 may also be applied to the surface of newly hardened concrete immediately after de-molding. The surface must be structurally sound, free from oil, grease, and other forms of contamination, which may otherwise prevent the adhesion of Vetocure XT247 to the concrete.
The recommended coverage rate for Vetocure XT427 is between 4.0 and 6.0 m2 / litrer (0.17 - 0.25 litres/m2 ).
Over-coating and removal
Vetocure XT427 can be applied over old, covered substrates. A small trial area is recommended to ensure that the desired properties are obtained.
Before over-coating with Vetocure XT427, ensure that the surface is completely free of stains, oils, and other materials that may interfere with the adhesion of the material.
* Important Note
Consult your Saveto technical representative for conditions and application method.
