(Formerly Known as Vetoprime CP437)
Corrosion inhibitor for steel reinforcement accepting cementitious repair or concrete
Vetoprime CP436 is a two-component polymer modified cementitious primer designed to enhance the bond between the Concrete Repair range of repair mortars and existing reinforced steel. Vetoprime CP436 is also designed to protect the steel reinforcement by providing a highly alkaline passivating layer around the reinforcement and migrating corrosion inhibitor technology, which minimizes further corrosion to surrounding steel reinforcement.
Vetoprime CP436 is supplied in 2 kg Kit, Coverage: 1.18m2/2kg kit @ 1mm.
Vetoprime CP436 is supplied in 4kg Kit, Coverage: 2.35m2/4kg kit @ 1mm.
Stated consumption data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of the substrate, method of application, and wastage.
The original sealed kit of Vetoprime CP436 has a shelf life of 12 months, provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry, shaded place below 35ºC.
Mix Vetoprime CP436 by slowly adding the powder component to the liquid component. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes until obtaining a smooth and even consistency.
Application As Reinforcement Primer
Apply by using a brush two coats of Vetoprime CP436 in a 1mm thickness approximately. Allow each coat to reach the initial setting before the application of the second coat.
Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
It is essential to apply Vetoprime CP436 to a sound, clean, and dry surface to achieve maximum bond strength between substrate and coating/repair products.
All rust and scale should be removed from any exposed steel reinforcement by grit blasting techniques or equivalent approved methods to a bright steel condition.
At temperatures below 20ºC, the cure rate will be slower. Conversely, at temperatures above 20ºC, the cure rate will be faster.
Vetoprime CP436 should not come into contact with skin and eyes or be swallowed. Avoid inhalation of vapor and spray. Use only in well-ventilated areas. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory protection. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection. Barrier creams provide additional skin protection. Should accidental skin contact occur, remove immediately with a suitable skin cleanser followed by washing with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water, and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.
Vetoprime CP436 is non-flammable.
