Water-based concrete curing compound
Vetocure XT425 is a single component concrete and cementitious substrates curing compound. The product is an environmentally friendly water-based product and biodegradable. Vetocure XT425 when first applied to a fresh cementitious surface; the emulsion breaks to form a continuous, non-penetrating white coating which dries to form a continuous clear film which provides a barrier to moisture loss, ensuring more efficient cement hydration, improved durability, and reduced shrinkage. A white-colored version of the product is also available.

Vetocure XT425 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months, 6 months for pigmented grades, provided the temperature is kept within the range of 5ºC to 35ºC. Avoid freezing and prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight. Should the temperature of the product fall outside this range, then Contact Saveto Technical Service Department for advice.
Keep containers sealed and airtight to prevent loss of moisture by evaporation.

Stire Vetocure XT425 white before use to ensure even dispersion of the pigment.
Vetocure XT425 should be spray applied to the surface of fresh concrete. The application should begin immediately after the concrete is free from surface water. Do not apply if bleed water is forming or present on the
concrete surface. The spray nozzle should be held approximately 450 mm and inclined at 35º to 45º from the concrete surface and passed back and forth to ensure complete coverage. The fugitive white color during application provides a guide to the area covered. Maintain pump pressure to give an even, fine spray.
After spraying, no further application of water or other material is necessary to ensure continued curing. The concrete surface should not be disturbed until it has sufficient strength to bear surface loads. Prevent the walk on the applied film until it is fully dry, and ensure that the film is not broken. Vetocure XT425 may also be applied to the surface of newly hardened concrete immediately after demolding. In such cases, the concrete surface must be damp and not dry. Dry surfaces may prevent correct film formation and cause absorption of the Vetocure XT425, which may lead to staining and difficulty in later removal.
The recommended coverage rate is between 7 - 9 m2/liter. If the request for coverage outside the recommended coverage rate should meet the specification requirements, contact the local Saveto office or representative in advance in such cases.
Use spray equipment to produce a fine mist without damaging the emulsion. Ensure the suitability of equipment by an application trial.
Clean spray equipment immediately after use by flushing through with water. If spray nozzles become blocked with wax particles, clean them with white spirit.
Over-coating and removal
Vetocure XT425 must be removed from a concrete surface before applying a subsequent coating to ensure a good bond of the overcoated material to the concrete. Vetocure XT425 will be slowly removed by physical abrasion in normal trafficking or exposure to UV light. To ensure the complete removal, use high-pressure steam, water jet, or light sandblasting.
Vetocure XT425 should not be continuously recirculated in high shear pumps in the concrete train or similar applications as this may cause a breakdown of the emulsion before spraying. If continuous recirculation is necessary, the sprayer should be fitted with a low-shear diaphragm pump. Specifications calling for resin or solvent-based curing membranes can be met using Vetocure XT427.
Vetocure XT425 does not fall into the hazard classifications of current regulations. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to contact skin and eyes either in bulk or spray form.
Wear suitable protective gloves and goggles. Remove splashes on the skin with water. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.

Cleaning and disposal
Spillages of Vetocure XT425 should be absorbed onto sand, earth, or vermiculite and transferred to suitable containers. Remnants should be hosed down with large quantities of water.
Follow the local legislation for the disposal of excess or waste material.
