Usage Instructions

material, grease, laitance, dirt, or any other substance that might impair the product’s bond quality with the substrate.

Any spalled, fractured or defected asphalt and concrete surface must be repaired to allow Vetonit Sport AC747 to bond effectively to sound, monolithic surfaces. Use an epoxy mortar from the Vetorep ER range to repair all necessary areas before applying.

Asphalt Surfaces

Before applying the coating, new asphalt must be given time to cure and oxidize until its shiny black surface changes to a matte grey. The duration of this process depends on the surface characteristics, as well as the surrounding temperature and humidity. Typically, this takes about three weeks during summer, but it can extend to up to three months in winter.

Concrete Surfaces

New concrete floors should be cured at a minimum of 14 days with a moisture content of less than 5% (test the substrate’s moisture conditions if an earlier application is necessary).

All surfaces receiving Vetonit Sport AC747 should be primed with Vetotop Sports AP mixed with silica sand. This ensures smooth surface and fills pores to prevent any inherent moisture in the asphalt or concrete surface from interfacing the product.

Apply Vetonit Sport AP174 evenly using a brush on a properly prepared and clean concrete surface for maximum adhesion and efficiency. Proper priming is an essential step to provide a stable foundation for the product, ensuring improved bond strength and long-term performance.

Vetonit Sport AC747 is supplied as a single-component product ready for on-site use. To ensure uniform consistency before application, inspect the coating for any settlement or separation. Mix thoroughly with a slow speed (300 - 400 rpm) paddle mixer for 1 - 2 minutes if necessary.

Vetonit Sport AC747 can be applied using a brush, roller, or airless spray machine. For spray applications, the nozzle must be suitable for coatings with a maximum particle size of 100 microns.

Begin with the first coat, applying it at a recommended coverage of 6 – 8 m2 per liter. Allow this layer to cure for 4 – 6 hours, depending on environmental factors such as temperature and humidity, before proceeding to the next stage.

For the second and third coats, apply at the same coverage rate, ensuring each layer is applied perpendicular to the previous one. This cross-layering technique enhances adhesion and coverage while providing a consistent finish.

Allow adequate curing time between coats to ensure durability and a long-lasting surface.

Optimal curing occurs when ambient temperatures range between 10°C and 35°C.

All tools should be thoroughly washed and cleaned immediately after use with clean water.
