Vetoset CA546 is a weather-resistant, cementitious adhesive mortar with enhanced characteristics and improved slip resistance. It is composed of hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, and special additives. The product is supplied as a dry powder in pre-measured bags, ready for on-site use (requiring only the addition of clean water to create a workable, cementitious adhesive). Vetoset CA546 is suitable for both internal and external use and is typically applied at thicknesses ranging from 3 to 10 mm.
The surface should be sound, clean, and free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compounds, etc.
Wet all surfaces with clean water before applying Vetoset CA546. The surface should appear damp with no water pooling.
To prepare a mortar adhesive from Vetoset CA546, 5.6 - 6.2 liter (28 - 31%) of water (for each 20 kg bag) into a container. Add the powder to the water then mix with a low-speed (200-300 rpm) electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle until a uniform and lump-free consistency is achieved.
Allow the mixed material to stand for about 10 minutes then remix briefly without adding more water
Using a notched trowel, spread the mixed Vetoset CA546 mortar adhesive and firmly press it onto the surface. (Spread the mortar adhesive to an area that can be tiled within 10 minutes).
Place the tiles onto the fresh adhesive mortar and press them firmly with a slight twist then knock them immediately into the desired position. (You can adjust the position of the tiles within the adjustability time of 10 - 15 minutes after installation).
The mortar adhesive should not rise between the tile joints higher than halfway the thickness of the tiles. Remove any excess adhesive with a damp cloth before it dries.
You can begin grouting the joints between the tiles after 24 hours (for walls) and after 48 hours (for floors). It’s recommended to use Vetonit Tile Grout.
