Vetorep CR523

Single-component (cementitious) fairing coat.

Vetorep CR523 is a single-component, polymer-modified, cementitious fairing coat. It is ready to use and only requires adding water on site.

Once Vetorep CR523 is mixed, the product becomes a smooth paste & it can be used to repair surface imperfections up to 3 mm thickness. It’s also compatible with most host concrete types.

Vetorep CR523 is composed of a special blend of hydraulic cement, selected fine fillers, and additives that give this product its unique properties.

Uses

  • To repair concrete surface blemishes (from feather edge to 3 mm thick).
  •  It unifies concrete surface color.
  •  To cosmetically fill plaster & concrete hair cracks.
  •  To fill blow holes up to 5 mm.
  •  As a final finish in industrial structures (such as parking garages, retaining walls, etc.).

Advantages

  • Easy to use (a single-component product).
  • Breathable & compatible with most host concrete types.
  • Self-priming (no need for an independent primer).
  • Self-curing.
  • Chloride-free.

Usage Instructions

All surfaces should be clean, sound, and uncontaminated before applying Vetorep CR523. Clean the prepared area thoroughly using a brush and/or compressed air (Soak the prepared area with water immediately before applying Vetorep CR523).

To ensure proper mixing, use a mechanical power mixer or a drill fitted with a suitable paddle. (For small quantities, Vetorep CR523 can be hand mixed using the proper tools and a bucket).

Pour 7.5 - 8.5 liter of fresh water into a clean container, then add the powder slowly while continuously mixing (with a low-speed mixer/drill, 400 - 600 rpm). Continue mixing for 3 minutes until a uniform consistency is achieved. Leave the mixture for 5 - 10 minutes to mature and then remix for 30 - 60 seconds without adding more water.

To enhance the scratch resistance of Vetorep CR523, we recommend adding Vetobond PB434. Consult your closest Saveto representative for further information.

Vetorep CR523 can be applied using a steel trowel. Apply a layer of the mixed mortar (3 mm thick) to the prepared substrates. Allow the applied mortar to stiffen before trowelling to a smooth finish.

Blowholes or bug holes might have a larger size, so fill the cavities gradually to ensure it’s filled well and it fits the repair of the hole (if it is deeper & wider than 5 mm or to a maximum thickness of 10 mm).

Vetorep CR523 does not require curing in normal ambient conditions. In harsh weather conditions, such as high wind and temperatures, it is recommended to cure it with Vetobond AB432.

Clean all tools with freshwater immediately after application. Clean hardened materials mechanically.
