Vetorep CR526

High-strength & fine structural repair mortar.

Vetorep CR526 is a single-component, polymer-modified, fiber-reinforced & cementitious structural repair mortar. It is ready to use and only requires adding water on site.

Once mixed, the product becomes a thixotropic mortar that can be hand-applied & used to make demanding structural repairs. It is also compatible with most host concrete types. Vetorep CR526 is composed of a special blend of hydraulic cement, selected and graded aggregates, fibers, and the additives that give it its unique properties.

Uses

  • To repair broken structural concrete elements.
  • For vertical concrete repairs (up to 40 mm in a single layer).
  • For overhead concrete repairs (up to 20 mm in a single layer).
  • For horizontal & patch repairs (up to 50 mm in a single layer).
  • For general curbstone & concrete repairs.

Advantages

  • Easy to use (a single component product).
  • High physical & mechanical properties.
  • Extremely low permeability (It provides reinforcement protection against corrosion as well as resistance to ingress of contaminants).
  • Non-Shrink properties (this ensures the dimensional stability of the repair work).
  • Suitable for internal & external applications.
  • Breathable & compatible with most host concrete.
  • Thixotropic properties (this allows high build-up in vertical and overhead repairs).

Usage Instructions

Cut back all damaged and weak concrete to reach sound concrete and/or until a minimum depth of at least 10 mm is reached.

Grit blast corroded steel reinforcement to remove all rust traces. In case of significant loss in the steel reinforcement cross-section, replace the steel entirely. Remove all concrete forms around the exposed steel reinforcements by a thickness of 25 mm. Saw cut the perimeters of the repair area to a minimum depth of 10 mm. Clean the prepared area thoroughly using a brush and/or compressed air.

Prime all grit blasted steel reinforcements within 2 to 4 hours with one or two coats of Vetoprime CP436. Soak the areas to be repaired with clean water before applying the repair mortar. Remove all excess water before applying one coat of acrylic bonding agent Vetobond AB432. Allow Vetobond AB432 to become tacky before applying the repair mortar.

Use a mechanically powered mixer or a drill fitted with a suitable paddle to ensure proper mixing. Add 2.8 to 3 liters of clean water to a clean container. Add the powder slowly to the water while mixing continuously with a low-speed mixer/drill (400 - 600 rpm). Continue mixing for 5 minutes until a uniform consistency is achieved.

Apply Vetorep CR526 by trowel or hand. Fully compact the mixed mortar into the substrate by firm pressure to ensure good adhesion with the steel reinforcements and the substrate. Finish and level the surface initially by a wooden or plastic float. Carry out the final finish using a steel float.

Vetorep CR526 is a cementitious-based material, so you can cure it similarly to concrete. Curing can be done using Vetobond AB432 or by continuous watering & covering with polyethylene sheets.

Clean all tools with freshwater immediately after application. Clean hardened materials mechanically.
