Vetoset CA542 is a normal, cementitious, thin-bed tile adhesive that works with most types of tiles. The product is composed of a blend of cement, carefully selected aggregates, special additives, and polymers that provide with its unique properties (slip resistance and extended open time). Vetoset CA542 is suitable for internal and external application, it also contains special biocides that prevent the growth of bacteria and algae.
The substrate should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compounds, or any other substance that might impair the bond’s quality with the substrate.
Cure concrete, hollow blocks, and cement-based substrates sufficiently by irrigating them with water 1 hour before the application.
Add 7 - 8.75 liters of water (for each 25kg bag of Vetoset CA542) into a container. Add the powder to the water and mix using a low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle until a uniform and lump-free consistency is achieved. Allow the mixed material to stand for about 10 minutes then remix briefly without adding any more water.
Apply a thin layer of the adhesive onto the substrate using the flat edge of a trowel. Comb the adhesive using a suitable notched trowel to achieve a 2 - 5 mm bed thickness. Press the tiles firmly to ensure full contact with the adhesive.
Note: It is always better to work in a manageable area that can be tiled within the adhesive’s open time.
Leave the tiled surfaces for 24 hours before grouting. Contact Saveto’s technical department for more information regarding the suitable substrates & tile types on which this product can be safely applied.
Clean tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Remove hardened material mechanically.
