Usage Instructions
The substrate should be sound, clean, and free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, or any other substance that might impair the product’s bond quality with the substrate.
Any spalled, fractured or defected asphalt and concrete surface must be repaired to allow Vetonit Sport AP174 to bond effectively to sound, monolithic surfaces. Use an epoxy mortar from the Vetorep ER range to repair all necessary areas before applying.
Newly laid asphalt must be given time to cure and oxidize until its shiny black surface changes to a matte grey, before application of the resurfacer.
Thoroughly stir the resurfacer material before use to ensure uniform consistency. Combine the resurfacer with silica sand (100 – 110 mesh) in a ratio of 20 liters of resurfacer to 24 - 30 kg of silica sand.
Adjust the viscosity of the mixture as needed by gradually adding cool, clean water.
Use a slow-running drill with a paddle attachment to mix until the blend is smooth and homogeneous.
Using a flat blade rubber squeegee (600 – 1200 mm), apply the resurfacer to the prepared substrate in uniform strips. Ensure each strip slightly overlaps the previous one to create a seamless surface. Apply the resurfacer in a single, consistent direction to achieve optimal results and a professional finish.
Allow the resurfacer to dry completely, then inspect the surface for any high spots. These should be carefully leveled by lightly sanding with an orbital sanding machine.
Before proceeding, confirm that the resurfacer is fully dry to ensure optimal adhesion of the first colored acrylic layer.
Allow the resurfacer to dry for 30 to 60 minutes under optimal drying conditions before performing any sanding or applying the first colored acrylic layer.
All tools should be thoroughly washed and cleaned immediately after use with clean water.
