Vetonit Base WR
Weather-resistant premix cement coating for internal use.
Vetonit Base WR is a cement-based coating composed of hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, and special additives. It is supplied as a white and grey dry powder in pre-weighed bags. It is ready to use on-site and only requires the addition of clean water to produce easily workable mortar. Vetonit Base WR is a premium multipurpose product that’s ideal as a base coat for Vetonit Finish WR. Depending on the on-site requirement, Vetonit Base WR can be used to apply layers that are 1 to 5 mm thick.
Uses
- It can be applied internally onto walls & ceiling surfaces.
- It can be applied on smooth concrete surfaces and also on precast concrete surfaces.
- It can be applied on wall surfaces that are plastered with waterresistant plasters or Vetonit Renders and on damp concrete interiors.
Advantages
- Factory-controlled pre-blend ensures consistently high quality.
- Requires only the addition of water on-site at the time of use.
- Manual or spray machine application.
- Superior workability.
- Easy application that enables high productivity.
- Excellent adhesion on a variety of substrates.
- Water-resistant.
- Suitable for humid & dry conditions.
- Suitable for vertical & ceiling surfaces.
Usage Instructions
The surface should be sound, clean, and free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt-curing compounds, etc.
Before the Vetonit Base WR application, wet the entire surface with clean potable water. The surface should look damp when you begin the application process.
Internal Block Walls & Rough Surfaces
For manual application, mix 7.5-8.5 litres of water and the entire contents of the 25 Kg bag of Vetonit Base WR.
For the Spray machine application, use 9.5-10.0 litres of water for each 25 kg bag. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical mixer, or use a low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle. Mix until achieving a uniform, lump-free consistency. Allow the mixture to stand for about 10 minutes, then remix briefly without adding more water.
Smooth Concrete Surfaces
Add 0.5 litres of Vetonit Base WR to the mixing water and adjust the water requirement based on the above.
Use the mixed material within 2 hours. Do not add water to the mix once the mixed mortar begins to harden.
Apply Vetonit Base WR to achieve a maximum total thickness of 5 mm, which is roughly 1-2 mm per layer.
To obtain different finish textures, select the appropriate gun nozzle size or vary the spraying distance.
Leave the material undisturbed for at least 48 hours.
Cure Vetonit Base WR by spraying the surface with water every 12 hours for a minimum of 3 days. In hot & dry conditions, allow curing for a minimum of 5 days. This will help achieve a uniform colour, minimise the risk of surface cracks, and lead to higher mechanical strengths.
Clean all tools with water immediately after finishing. Clean hardened materials mechanically.
