Vetoproof UM870

Pure PU high performance single-component high viscous cold liquid applied waterproofing membrane.

Vetoproof UM870 is a premium quality single-component high viscous polyurethane waterproofing membrane; the product is a cold liquid applied that cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to form a highly elastic rubbery jointless waterproofing membrane.

Uses

  • Wet areas: kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pools, etc.
  • Basements, tunnels, subways, and culverts. inverted roofs, suspended slabs, balconies.
  • Tanking systems, flooring with pedestrian traffic.
  • Suitable for surface with stagnant water, roofs, terrace, flowerbeds, roof with polyurethane insulation foam.
  • Use for internal and external areas.

Usage Instructions

All surfaces to be applied with Vetoproof UM870 must be clean and have an open capillary system. Eliminate laitance, dirt, grease, and other loose materials using high-pressure water jetting or wet sandblasting. Defective concretes such as cracks and honeycombs have to be chased out and repaired before the application.

Priming is not usually required on good quality concrete substrates; however, for highly porous or absorbent concrete, use Vetoseal XX777-50. Or mix 1 part of Vetonit Solvent XX400 with 3 parts of Vetoproof UM870 and use as primer.

Apply Vetoproof UM870 by a brush, roller, or an airless spray gun. Use glass fiber scrim and joint tapes on corners and critical areas for membrane reinforcement. Tiling over Vetoproof UM870 is possible; in such cases, spray sharp sand over Vetoproof UM870 while still wet, 24 hours later, remove all excess sand, and use a suitable tile adhesive from Saveto Tiling Systems Product Range to bond the tiles directly over the membrane.

Allow Vetoproof UM870 to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before placing the protection. Protect the membrane with a cementitious screed or protection boards where damage to the membrane is possible.

Clean all tools employed to apply Vetoproof UM870 with Vetonit Solvent XX400 before it hardens; otherwise, mechanical means are needed.
