Vetofill CG551

Polymer-modified, ultra-hygienic, and cementitious tile grout (designed for hospitals and clinics)

Vetofill CG551 is an improved cementitious grout with additional characteristics of reduced water adsorption and high abrasion resistance. The single-component and cement-based product is also polymer-modified, anti-microbial, and water-resistant (making it ideal to use with most types of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, glass mosaic, marble, granite, etc.). Vetofill CG551 is composed of a blend of cement, special additives, and selected fillers and once it’s mixed with water, it becomes an easily workable creamy mortar that’s suitable for internal and external use (As it contains special biocides that kill biological agents and prevent bacterial and algae growth).

Uses

  • Antimicrobial tile grout (for areas demanding superior hygienic standards).
  • Tiling in health-related buildings (such as kitchens, hospitals, clinics, health centers, and food processing plants)
  • Filling the joints of virtually all types of tiles (up to 10 mm).
  • Wet areas (such as kitchens, bathrooms, etc.).

Advantages

  • Anti-microbial properties (hinders the growth of microbes, algae, and fungi);
  • Easy to apply (a single component)
  • Excellent mechanical & physical properties.
  • High bond strength.
  • High abrasion resistance.
  • Low water permeability.
  • Suitable for internal and external applications.
  • Suitable for use on horizontal and vertical tile applications.
  • Low VOC (environmentally friendly product).
  • Extreme stain resistance properties.

Usage Instructions

Remove all tile adhesive excess that is at a level higher than half of the tile thickness. All the joints should be free from dust, loose particles and traces of foreign materials, etc. Neutralize the tiles’ water absorption by applying clean potable water. Do not leave water pooling in the joints

Add 6.4 - 7.4 Liters of fresh, clean water to a suitably sized mixing container. Slowly add the powder component while mixing with a mixer fitted with a Saveto-approved paddle until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.

Important Note: Do not mix partial quantities unless the exact proportion (based on volume) can be measured. You should also use the proper tools to achieve the exact ratios.

You can enhance the material’s performance if required. To do this, add 0.5 a liter of Vetobond PB434 to the mixing water, then add the powder.

Use the mixed material within 4 hours.

Do not add water to the mixture once the mortar grout begins to harden.

Spread the mixed grout diagonally across the tile joints and firmly press it with a rubbing pad covered with a sponge rubber spatula to ensure all the gaps are filled. Remove any excess grout using the same tool.

After the grout initially dries (from 20 - 30 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and humidity), clean the tiles and remove all excess material with a wet sponge

After fully drying, clean the surface of the tiles with a dry cloth or disposable cotton towels.

Note: When washing and drying the tiles, Do not rub the tile joints too deep

Keep the grout moist often for the first 2 days to achieve the material’s full hardness properties.
